Mitch Gelber brings a wealth of expertise in architectural design and sustainability to his role as CEO of the Malaysia Green Building Council [malaysiaGBC].  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Design from Columbia University in New York City and a Masters of Architecture from the University of British Columbia. He currently chairs malaysiaGBC’s CarbonScore initiative, a whole-life carbon assessment for existing buildings targeting the total decarbonisation of Malaysia’s building and construction sector.  Gelber previously taught at the University of Malaya, School of Architecture and served for more than 10 years as a Green Building Index Certifier and member of the GBI Technical Committee.
