Supt Raja Sakaran Subramaniam has been in the Royal Malaysia Police Force for the last 35 years. He presently serves as the Principal Assistant Director of Investigation and Legal of Traffic Investigations and Enforcement Department of Bukit Aman, Royal Malaysia Police. During his tenure in the Traffic Branch of Kuala Lumpur Contingent, he was in charge of road traffic control. Prior to that, he has also served as a Senior Investigation Officer in the Crime Branch and as a Legal Officer in the Commercial Crime Branch.

As principal architect of ADS he has completed high rise condos, hotels, shopping malls and housing projects in Malaysia, China, Vietnam and Indonesia. He was PAM President for 2013-2015. He has also been appointed as Board Member of the Board of Architects Malaysia 2011-2021. Ar Chan is the President of Malaysia GBC (2018-2020).

Brad Smid, P.Eng, has been shaping and delivering Light Rail Transit infrastructure in Edmonton for the past fifteen years. In that time, Brad has helped to deliver over 75% of Edmonton’s current and under construction LRT network – and in doing so has helped to change the face of Edmonton. Brad is the Project Director for the Valley Line LRT; a truly transformative project of the 27 km urban-style, low-floor LRT system.

Prior to the Chief Analytics Officer role, she worked in White House Office of Science and Technology Policy during President Obama’s Administration as a policy advisor to the U.S. Chief Technology Officer and Chief Data Officer. Syed Malek joined PETRONAS in July 2018 in which he was part of the pioneer team in setting up the New Energy business in PETRONAS Corporate Strategy. He is currently the Head of Business Development of PETRONAS New Energy and is responsible to formulate and lead the business development for clean energy projects including solar, wind, hybrid and energy solutions projects in Malaysia and International to achieve New Energy growth target. Previously, Syed Malek served as the Chief Executive Officer for COMOS, a company established to spearhead electric mobility in Malaysia. Prior to that, he spent 17 years at PROTON in various capacities and was instrumental in the development of various PROTON engines and vehicle models.

ZULKIFLEE UMAR

Zulkiflee Umar is the Deputy Director of Energy Efficiency & Conservation from the Department of Industry Operation of Energy Commission Malaysia. He began his career with Energy Commission Malaysia in 2005 in the Legal Department performing enforcement tasks under the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Gas Supply Act 1993. He later shifted to the Department of Gas Development and Regulation of Energy Commission Malaysia in 2008 performing tasks related to the safety of gas installations. Appointed as the Head of Demand Side Management Unit in 2012 now known as Energy Efficiency & Conservation Unit, his expertises covers the areas of energy efficiencies.

Pascal Labouze is the Executive Director of Operational Systems in Transport for NSW, where he leads the vision to build more integrated systems to enable a more integrated transport network. For more than 25 years, Pascal Labouze has held various transport industry roles designing, developing and deploying complex systems. HASNIZA MOHAMED

Hasniza Mohamed has over 12 years of professional experience in digital, customer experience and transformation. She leads the Digital Transformation Agenda in UEM Sunrise and is responsible for crafting and executing the ‘go digital’ implementation for both digitisation & digitalisation. She is also active in collaborating with few start-ups and leading the 1st incubator team in UEM Sunrise. Melbourne was recently rated number 8 ‘smart city government’ in the world.

MOHD SHAHRIM MOHD TAMRIN

Shahrim has nearly 15 years’ experience in Journalism and Communications. He was a Panel Member of the Forum Discussion at Malaysia’s National Road Safety Council (MKJR) in conjunction with MKJR’s Annual General Meeting 2018. He sits on the Board of Directors of Malaysia Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS). In November 2016, he received a special award from ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) for his wide range coverage of road safety efforts and issues in SouthEast Asia. In August 2018, Shahrim was appointed by the Minister of Transport Malaysia monitoring the implementation of the previous panel 51 points and suggesting additional recommendations to improve the safety aspects of public transportation and commercial vehicles operation.

DATO’ MOHAMAD MADANI BIN SAHARI

Dato’ Madani Sahari is the CEO of the Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), previously known as the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI). MARii is the focal point, coordinating centre and think tank towards enhancing the competitiveness of the automotive industry and overall mobility, through the adoption of Robotics and the Internet of Things (IoT), under the custodian of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). He has played an active role in shaping the landscape of the automotive industry through his involvement in the formulation of the National Automotive Policy and under his leadership, MARii has expanded its scope to cater for the ever increasing demands for Robotics and IoT adoption in Malaysia.
Dato’ Madani graduated from the University of Lorraine (formerly Nancy-Université), France, with a degree in Industrial Technology and a Masters in Quality Engineering, in addition to being a Certified Quality Engineer. Dato’ Madani carries with him 25 years as an executive manager with national and international automotive manufacturers in the areas of strategic collaboration, project development and manufacturing.

Superintendent Gan Chip Pho has been in the police force for 36 years. He currently holds the position of Chief Assistant Director of Traffic Control in the Department of Investigation and Traffic Enforcement in Bukit Aman. Previously, he was stationed under the Department of Criminal Investigation in 2 districts for a total of 12 years – 5 years in IPD Segamat and 7 years in IPD Melaka Central in. Currently he is attached with the traffic unit in Bukit Aman for the past 6 years. He obtained his Diploma in Public Law from University Malaya, Malaysia and also has a Masters in Security and Safety from Cambridge International University, Delaware, United States.

Mr. Chua has almost 38 years of experience in the Consultancy, Project Management and Construction Industries. He is a professional Engineer and Chartered Engineer who has vast experience in Expressway, Marine, Golf Resorts, Mass Rapid Transit and Coastal and River Engineering Works. Mr. Chua was the Senior Project Director of River of Life (ROL) projects in Kuala Lumpur, one of the NINE entry-point projects (EPPs) under the Economic Transformation Program (ETP). He was also the Project Director for DUKE Phase 1 (completed), Phase 2 (Construction) and Phase 3 (Under Design). Mr. Chua has co-authored the Green Expressways Report with Prof Movanda Felix, Monash University, Australia. In addition to that, he also has authored papers on “Design of Sg Layang Estuary Dyke” at ASPC-IWSA Conference; and Chief Editor of the book: “DUKE – KL CONNECTOR” DUKE Phase 1: Nominated for “Excellent Award” for Innovative Design and Excellent Achievement for 2010 REAM’s Annual Road Conference. His hobbies include aerial photography, Tai Chi and Qigong – Quarter Master.

THEODORE GALANOS
Head of Research & Building Physics Department, Neapoli, Spain
Theodore is a holder of a Master’s degree in Industrial Ecology from the Technical University of Delft, Netherlands. Driven by his strong connection with the principles of Sustainability and their implementation in the built environment he joined NEAPOLI as the Head Research & Building Physics Department. He is in charge of developing and implementing performance assessment frameworks and simulation tools for the built environment, focusing on energy optimization, outdoor and indoor thermal comfort, natural and artificial lighting, wind assessment and micro-climate optimization. His industrial experience involves Government-led research projects, formed to assess Biofuel production capabilities, opportunities, and barriers in Malaysia, using the Life Cycle Analysis framework.

PETER EDWARDS

Peter J Edwards, is the Director of Engineering for Scomi Engineering Bhd (SEB). He is in charge of all engineering matters of the SEB group, in all its businesses. Peter is a chartered engineer with more than 23 years of Mass Rapid Transit railway systems engineering and project management experience, with an emphasis on rolling stock engineering and operations and maintenance. Experienced in all phases of projects, and in different projects types including PPP contracts, Peter has worked on projects involving all Urban vehicle types; Tram, BRT, LRT, Monorail, APM and Metro. He has also performed in client, contractor and consultant roles working on urban rail projects in the following cities: Singapore, London, Hong Kong, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Sao Paolo, Manchester and San Francisco. He graduated from the University of Liverpool with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Hons) in 1990 and is a member of The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), UK. He has also been the Honorary Secretary of IMechE Singapore Branch from 2011 – 2012.

DATO’ DR KEN YEANG

Dr Yeang’s early education was at Cheltenham Boys College in England. His architectural education was at AA School in London followed by a doctorate from Wolfson College at the University of Cambridge. His PhD dissertation in Cambridge on ecological design and planning has been the fundamental basis upon which his subsequent R&D and design work particularly in the field designing intensive urban buildings and tall buildings. Hamzah & Yeang Sdn Bhd. Which was formed with his colleague, Tengku Robert Hamzah in 1076, now with offices in Kuala Lumpur, London, Singapore, Australia and China. Dr. Yeang has authored several authorities books and article on skyscrapers design and on ecological design. Dr Yeang is Past President of the Malaysian Institute of Architects, a post he also held between 1983 to 1986. Rafiza Ghazali is the former Head of Group Innovation and Business Performance for Sime Darby Berhad. Rafiza led the social innovation project for Sime Darby Berhad, the inaugural Sime Darby Young Innovators Challenge 2016 that provided over 150 youths in Malaysia age between 13 to 16 years old with innovation skills. Sime Darby then incubated the winning idea and launched the Robin Food app on 15 December 2016. Four months after it being launched as at 10 April 2017, the initiative has saved nearly 17,000kg food worth approximately RM350,000 by distributing it to over 180 charities.

A Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Reuben Ng trained as a behavioural scientist at Oxford and Yale. He spent 15 years in government, consulting, and research. In government, he was in the Prime Minister’s Office driving evidence-based policy making through data analytics, and Smart Nation strategies. Reuben is an expert in preventive healthcare of older adults, population health analytics, psychometrics, resilience and culture. He is credited with creating innovative techniques to measure societal perceptions/stereotypes that are applied to social policy, and program evaluation. He has over 50 journal/conference papers, taught extensively in Asia & US, and was nominated for teaching awards at Quinnipiac and Yale.

Tan Sri Dato’ Ir. Syed Muhammad Shahabudin has been in the water engineering field for more than 50 years most of which in private practice as a consulting engineer. He has been a board member of Selangor Water Management Board (LUAS) since its formation in 2000 and has recently completed his 10-year term as a member of the National Water Services Commission (SPAN) since its formation in 2007. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia to pursue, encourage and enhance excellence in the field of science, engineering and technology. Nicholas Car is an experimental computer scientist at CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, working in the areas of Semantic Web and information modelling. He leads the technical components of a number of large-scale government data integration projects such as the Location Integration Capability, Loc-l, and the Longitudinal Spine of Government Functions. These projects aim to reduce the effort required to analyse public sector information and thus improve its utility. He is co-chair of the Australia Government Linked Data Working Group which assists government with data exchange.

Marjolein Brasz, with a business degree from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, started working in the energy business in 2001, initially in the traditional oil & gas industry and later with new insights gained along the way, in the field of sustainable energy. In 2006, she moved to the Amsterdam Economic Board, an independent institute focussing on the future of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, as Lead on the Circular Economy Transition Programme. Transitioning into a new circular economy requires strong cooperation between governments, knowledge institutes and business; new coalition should be formed, new business (models) developed and room for experimentation and failure allowed.
